Who is Eligible to Participate

High school students enrolled in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate.

In addition, students must:

• Be an individual who has demonstrated a genuine interest in one of the 33 
• Be of amateur status, having never performed as a professional in any categories of competition
• Conform to the guideline requirements as dictated by the categor(ies) chosen
• Submit an application (written or online) to his/her local ACT-SO chapter
• For students who will advance to the National ACT-SO Competition, contestants must submit to his/her local NAACP chapter:

A national application

A one to two page, typed [double-spaced] biography

A completed parental consent form

A medical release form signed by a parent

A small, clear photo
